There’s an interesting Easter egg I added to the home page of my wife’s website. On a tablet or phone, you can see the graphics rearrange themselves when you switch your device’s orientation from portrait to landscape. On a desktop browser, you can also see the headline and menu text scale at different rates as you change the width of the window.

Codepen.io
I used my codepen.io account for experiments with the Web Audio API, SVG, CSS, RWD, JavaScript and web design.
Kahn Academy
With my experience with coding and graphics, making interactive graphics for the web using code seemed like it might be a good fit for me. Kahn Academy was one of the earliest sites I played with to get my feet wet in that area. Although I grew tired of it’s proprietary Processing.js approach, the samples I made still work, many are interactive and some of them are kind of fun.
Giving back
On several occasions I have had the honor of volunteering to help Detroit Public Schools students learn the basics of HTML coding and programming concepts via events like Hour Of Code and KidsCodeDetroit. I have also assisted Detroit area adults with learning HTML at multiple Girl Develop It Detroit events.

freeCodeCamp
Another site I used to improve my general web development knowledge was freeCodeCamp. I went through over 250 of their online exercises and even participated a hybrid online/live mini coding bootcamp at Grand Circus. Unfortunately, as a side-affect of multiple site redesigns, they have wiped virtually all my coding projects from their site.

edabit.com
I wanted to boost my skills with Javascript, and one of the better online learning sites I’ve found is edabit.com. They offer tutorials and coding challenges in several languages. Unfortunately I cannot link directly to my coding examples on that site, as they don’t allow others to see my work without registering and going through the exercises.

Meetup and Slack
Since 2014 I have belonged to several IT-related Meetup and Slack groups, for the purpose of sharpening my skills and learning about new technologies. I have attended dozens of seminars and events in Detroit and Ann Arbor, with groups like Detroit Javascript, SE Michigan JavaScript, Girl Develop It Detroit, and Detroit User Experience, among others.

Red Panda
Red Panda is a Detroit area company that makes effects pedals for electric guitar and other instruments. I have been a occasional contract worker with them for many years. The type of work I do has ranged from logo and pedal graphics design, to recording demo videos and audio clips, consulting on the sound of the pedals during their development, and even assembling pedals. Currently I am creating TouchOSC templates, like the ones pictured below, that run on desktop computers, phones and tablets, and enables control of their pedals via MIDI.

usertesting.com
As a side gig, I tested web sites and apps for UserTesting, it helped me keep in mind the user experience testing that is an important part of web and app design and development.

I have a humble GitHub presence github.com/eti313
