With my experience with coding and graphics, making interactive graphics for the web using code seemed like it might be a good fit for me. Kahn Academy was one of the earliest sites I played with to get my feet wet in that area. Although I grew tired of it’s proprietary Processing.js approach, the samples I made still work, many are interactive and some of them are kind of fun.

freeCodeCamp
Another site I used to improve my general web development knowledge was freeCodeCamp. I went through over 250 of their online exercises and even participated a hybrid online/live mini coding bootcamp at Grand Circus. Unfortunately, as a side-affect of multiple site redesigns, they have wiped virtually all my coding projects from their site.
